Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Conduct choral ensembles as assigned.
  2. Actively recruit undergraduate and graduate students.
  3. Teach choral methods.
  4. Conduct research appropriate to a Research I institution or undertake comparable scholarly/creative activity.
  5. Serve on department committees.
  6. Advise students.
  7. Other duties as assigned by the department chair.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. DMA in choral conducting (ABD will be considered).
  2. Demonstrated success in teaching, conducting, and leadership of choirs at the professional, collegiate, and/or high school level.
Desirable Qualifications
  1. Evidence of accomplished teaching at the collegiate level.
  2. Some training/background in music education.
  3. Demonstrated success in recruitment and community outreach.
  4. Commitment to music from diverse cultures and regions (Western and non-Western).
