  • Private funds, to begin no sooner than June 16, 2018, pending position clearance and availability of funds; NTE June 30, 2018. Position may be eligible for increase in FTE upon availability of funds.
Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Assist with curriculum development and evaluation in medical undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate and continuing education;
  2. Teach medical students, post-graduate residents and faculty;
  3. Conduct and supervise research;
  4. Mentor in the principles and practice of biomedical research;
  5. Care for General Internal Medicine patients;
  6. May serve as Interim Site Coordinator or Firm Advisor at Queen Emma Clinic;
  7. Other scholarly duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. MD/DO degree or equivalent medical degree from a medical or osteopathic school of recognized standing;
  2. Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine and/or American Board of Medical Specialties by date of hire and recertification when appropriate;
  3. Valid Hawaii medical license by date of hire;
  4. Demonstrated ability in teaching and patient care in the clinical learning environment;
  5. Evidence of effective research, scholarly activity, or clinical education administration;
  6. Familiar with Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), and HIPAA policies;
  7. Ability to serve as a role model for students and junior colleagues;
  8. Familiarity with curriculum development and evaluation;
  9. Excellent communication skills, written and spoken.
