  • The UHM School of Nursing and Dental Hygiene invites qualified applicants for one full-time (1) non-tenure track, 1.00 FTE, 11 month, faculty position. Position is expected to begin approximately January 2018 or as mutually acceptable. Renewal of appointment is dependent on performance, program needs and/or availability of funds.
Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Serve as program director and advisor to students enrolled in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program, a post-baccalaureate or higher degree program with multiple entry pathways and specialties.
  2. Teach assigned courses in the graduate nursing program.
  3. Perform other duties as assigned.
Assistant Professor Minimum Qualifications
  1. Doctoral degree in Nursing or related field from a college or university of recognized standing;
  2. RN Licensure;
  3. Demonstrated ability as a teacher;
  4. Demonstrated ability to effectively meet, interact and confer with others.
Associate Professor Minimum Qualifications
  1. Doctoral degree in Nursing or related field from a college or university of recognized standing;
  2. RN licensure;
  3. Four years of service as a faculty member in an academic university at the rank of assistant professor or equivalent;
  4. Evidence of proficiency in teaching;
  5. Demonstrated ability to effectively meet, interact and confer with others.
Assistant Professor Desirable Qualifications
  1. Doctor in Nursing Practice degree from a college or university of recognized standing;
  2. National certification in advanced practice nursing;
  3. Coursework in curriculum development and health sciences education;
  4. Demonstrated competency in interdisciplinary team work and team science.
Associate Professor Desirable Qualifications
  1. Doctor in Nursing Practice degree from a college or university of recognized standing;
  2. National certification in advanced practice nursing;
  3. Coursework in curriculum development and health sciences education;
  4. Demonstrated competency in interdisciplinary team work and team science.
