Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Develop a new Concentration in Long Term Care Management and teach undergraduate courses using traditional and distributed learning modalities.
  2. Develop, interpret, modify and implement policies and procedures.
  3. Plan and secure resources for use in support of the program.
  4. Design marketing and recruitment plan and materials.
  5. Formulate articulation agreements with University of Hawaii Community Colleges.
  6. Develop academic development plan for the program.
  7. Conduct scholarly and research activities in areas related to teaching.
  8. Participate in curriculum development activities including the development of curricular materials and special instructional methods.
  9. Serve on program, division, and university committees.
  10. Render service to the professional and community relevant to academic specialty.
  11. Network with professional and community health organizations to develop additional practicum sites for student internships.
  12. Serve as faculty advisor for students in the program, and perform other related tasks as assigned.
Assistant Professor Minimum Qualifications
  1. Earned doctorate from an accredited university in Health Administration or a closely related discipline. An ABD will be considered, provided applicant completes degree requirements by August 1, 2018.
  2. Evidence of excellence in teaching in the areas of long term care management.
  3. Evidence of scholarly and applied research activities related to the areas of teaching
  4. Evidence of independence, enthusiasm, and self-direction.
  5. Ability to plan and organize assigned activities and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Associate Professor Minimum Qualifications
  1. In addition to minimum qualifications listed above, five years of full-time college or university teaching at the rank of Assistant Professor.
  2. Evidence of publications in peer-reviewed journals in areas related to academic discipline.
  3. Demonstrated ability to obtain external grant funding.
Desirable Qualifications
  1. Ability to interact effectively in a multicultural setting; experience in working with highly diverse communities and demonstrated excellence in teaching to culturally diverse students.
  2. Demonstrated ability to teach distance education courses.
  3. Experience in course assessment and institutional accreditation.
  4. Published research in peer reviewed journals in areas relevant to teaching.
  5. NAB for Long Term Care Administrators, NHA, RC/AL licensure.
