- Develop a new Concentration in Long Term Care Management and teach undergraduate courses using traditional and distributed learning modalities.
- Develop, interpret, modify and implement policies and procedures.
- Plan and secure resources for use in support of the program.
- Design marketing and recruitment plan and materials.
- Formulate articulation agreements with University of Hawaii Community Colleges.
- Develop academic development plan for the program.
- Conduct scholarly and research activities in areas related to teaching.
- Participate in curriculum development activities including the development of curricular materials and special instructional methods.
- Serve on program, division, and university committees.
- Render service to the professional and community relevant to academic specialty.
- Network with professional and community health organizations to develop additional practicum sites for student internships.
- Serve as faculty advisor for students in the program, and perform other related tasks as assigned.
- Earned doctorate from an accredited university in Health Administration or a closely related discipline. An ABD will be considered, provided applicant completes degree requirements by August 1, 2018.
- Evidence of excellence in teaching in the areas of long term care management.
- Evidence of scholarly and applied research activities related to the areas of teaching
- Evidence of independence, enthusiasm, and self-direction.
- Ability to plan and organize assigned activities and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- In addition to minimum qualifications listed above, five years of full-time college or university teaching at the rank of Assistant Professor.
- Evidence of publications in peer-reviewed journals in areas related to academic discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to obtain external grant funding.
- Ability to interact effectively in a multicultural setting; experience in working with highly diverse communities and demonstrated excellence in teaching to culturally diverse students.
- Demonstrated ability to teach distance education courses.
- Experience in course assessment and institutional accreditation.
- Published research in peer reviewed journals in areas relevant to teaching.
- NAB for Long Term Care Administrators, NHA, RC/AL licensure.
