- To begin August 2017. For best consideration, all application materials should be received by May 26, 2017.
- Teach major and non-major undergraduate and graduate level food science courses, such as Experimental Foods, Post-harvest Food Product Development, Sensory Evaluation/Flavor Chemistry, Nutritional Biochemistry, according to departmental needs and priorities.
- Advise undergraduate and graduate students, supervise graduate student laboratory experiences, and to provide leadership and direction in the area of food science for the department.
- Develop a competitive research program in food science as it relates to post-harvest tropical product development, functional foods based on local production, or biochemical changes in food processing/packaging. Obtain extramural funds to support research program and facilitate interdisciplinary research.
- Participate in departmental, college, and university committee work and service.
- Doctorate in Food Science/Chemistry/Processing or related field from a college or university of recognized standing. ABD candidates may be considered, but all degree requirements must be completed at the time of hire.
- Demonstrated ability as a teacher.
- Demonstrated scholarly achievement.
- Poise and good address for meeting and conferring with others.
- One year of post-doctoral experience.
- Strong food biochemistry/nutritional biochemistry background
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.
- Peer-reviewed publications
- Track record of successful grant writing.
- Experience developing and teaching distance learning courses.
