Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Conduct research in Virology.
  2. Research focus in the area of Virology.
  3. Expected to secure extramural research funding.
  4. Teach undergraduate courses related to Virology.
  5. Teach graduate courses related to area of specialty.
  6. Mentor students.
  7. Perform other tasked as assigned.
Assistant Professor Minimum Qualifications
  1. PhD in the Biological Sciences or related field from a college or university of recognized standing.
  2. Postdoctoral experience.
  3. Experience in Virology.
  4. Demonstrated success in Virology research.
  5. Demonstrated scholarly and research achievements.
  6. Ability as a teacher.
Associate Professor Minimum Qualifications
  1. Same as Assistant, plus a minimum of four years of college or university teaching and research experience at the Assistant Professor level or equivalent, with evidence of increasing maturity.
  2. Publication record commensurate with the rank.
  3. Current success in securing extramural research funding.
  4. Demonstrated ability to plan and organize assigned activities, including the supervision of work when appropriate.
  5. Ability to serve as a role model for students and junior colleagues.
