Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Under general supervision, design, deliver, and assess instruction in terms of student learning outcomes for Adult Residential Care Home Primary Caregiver; develop and/or update course content and materials; use teaching strategies to meet the college's diverse students learning needs.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. Associate degree in Nursing (ADN)
  2. At least two years of nursing experience, of which one year must be in the provision of long-term care facility services; must have completed a course in teaching adults or have experience in teaching adults or supervising nurse aides;
  3. RN eligible for Hawaii State License. License required by effective date of employment.
  4. Or
  5. Bachelor degree in Nursing (BSN)
  6. At least two years of nursing experience, of which one year must be in the provision of long-term care facility services; must have completed a course in teaching adults or have experience in teaching adults or supervising nurse aides;
  7. RN eligible for Hawaii State License. License required by effective date of employment.
Desirable Qualifications
  1. Familiar with the State Administrative Rules, Chapter 100.1;
  2. Experience working with Hawaii ARCH program. Preferably this experience will have been gained within the last 5 years.
  3. Experience in teaching adults or supervising nurse aides;
  4. Evidence of ability to work in a collegial manner with peers, department chairs, and administrators; prior teaching experience ; 6 months minimum.
