  • Positions are part-time, non-tenure, for lecturer pool for Academic Year 2016-2017, contingent upon course offerings, student enrollment, and availability of funds. Courses may be taught during the day, evening, weekend or distance learning (DL).
Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Teach assigned courses in the following discipline(s):
  2. College of Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resource Management: Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Business, Agricultural Engineering, Energy Engineering, Animal Science.
  3. College of Arts and Sciences: Administration of Justice, Anthropology, Art, Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Chinese, Communications, Computer Science, Dance, Drama and Theatre, Education, English, Geography, Geology, Japanese, Kinesiology and Exercise Science, Korean, Marine Science, Math, Music, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Spanish
  4. College of Business and Economics: Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Tourism
  5. College of Continuing Education & Community Service: English as a Second Language
  6. Ka Haka ‘Ula O Ke’elikolani: Hawaiian Language, Hawaiian Language-Ke’elikolani, Hawaiian Studies, Education-Ke’elikolani, Linguistics
  7. Maintain minimum of one office hour per week for each course taught
  8. Prepare course schedule, syllabus, and reports related to teaching and student progress
  9. Work under the supervision of discipline chairperson
  10. Commitment to principles of higher education and philosophy is essential.
  11. Possible evening, weekend, and off-campus assignments, and also distance learning assignments for courses taught via the Internet
  12. For some teaching fields, openings may only be available for classes offered off-campus or taught via the Internet.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. M.A., M.S., or Ph.D. in the appropriate subject area. If qualified applicants are not available, those not meeting minimum qualifications may be considered on an exception basis.
Desirable Qualifications
  1. Teaching experience at university or community college level. Demonstrated ability to work with adult learners.
