  • Part-time, non-tenure track, for placement in Spring, Summer and/or Fall lecturer pool, assignments as needed, contingent on availability of funds and actual staffing requirements for East Hawai`i campus.
Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Under general supervision, conduct lecture and as appropriate, laboratory courses in the discipline.
  2. May include instructional assignment involving distance education.
  3. Maintain at least one office hour per week for each class taught.
  4. Possible evening, weekend and off-campus assignments.
  5. Conduct student evaluations of teaching effectiveness.
  6. Participate in assessment of course learning outcomes.
  7. Adhere to all due dates, including the online submission of grades.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. ASSOCIATE DEGREE IN NURSING:
  2. Master’s degree in Nursing and at least one year of hospital experience in one of the areas of teaching responsibility (preferably this experience will have been gained within the last five years of date of application) and registered nurse eligible for Hawai`i State License. License required by effective date of employment.
  3. PRACTICAL NURSING:
  4. (a) Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with at least three years of hospital experience in one of the areas of teaching responsibility (preferably this experience will have been gained within the last five years of date of application) and registered nurse eligible for Hawai`i State License. License required by the effective date of employment;
  5. OR (b) Master’s degree in Nursing with at least one year of hospital experience in one of the areas of teaching responsibility (preferably this experience will have been gained within the last five years of date of application) and registered nurse eligible for Hawai`i State License. License required by effective date of employment.
  6. If qualified applicants are not available, those not meeting minimum qualifications may be considered.
