  • Part-time, non-tenure track, for placement in Spring, Summer and/or Fall lecturer pool, assignments as needed, contingent on availability of funds and actual staffing requirements for East and West Hawai`i campuses.
Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Under general supervision, conduct lecturer and as appropriate, laboratory courses in the discipline.
  2. May include instructional assignment involving distance education.
  3. Maintain at least one office hour per week for each class taught.
  4. Possible evening, weekend and off-campus assignments.
  5. Conduct student evaluations of teaching effectiveness.
  6. Participate in assessment of course learning outcomes.
  7. Adhere to all due dates, including the online submission of grades.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. ACCOUNTING: (a) Master’s in Accounting (MAcc); OR (b) Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) including 18 credits in Accounting (undergraduate and/or graduate – 300 level or higher); OR (c) Bachelor’s in Accounting and 3 years of related work experience in accounting; OR (d) Bachelor’s in related fields such as Business Administration (in areas other than accounting) including 18 credits Accounting (undergraduate and/or graduate – 300 level or higher) and 5 years of related work experience in Accounting; OR (e) Bachelor’s in any field and CPA/CMA or equivalent professional accounting certification (in the USA).
  2. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY: (a) Master’s in Information & Computer Science; OR (b) Master’s in Business with coursework in business computer applications; OR (c) Master’s in Education Technology with coursework in computer applications; OR (d) Bachelor’s in Information and Computer Science and 3 years (must be within the last 5 years) of related work experience; OR (e) Bachelor’s in Business with coursework in business computer applications and 3 years (must be within the last 5 years) of related work experience; OR (f) Bachelor’s in any field and 5 years (must be within the last 5 years) of related work experience including training; OR (g) Associate degree in Business with some coursework in business computer applications and 5 years (must be within the last 5 years) of related work experience including training; OR (h) 15 college credits in Business with some coursework in business computer applications and 7 years (must be within the last 5 years) of related work experience including training; OR (i) Master recognition by Business Community in computer applications and 10 years (must be within the last 5 years) of related work experience including training.
  3. BUSINESS TECHNOLOGY: (a) Master’s degree in Business Education; OR (b) Master’s degree in a business related field (Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Information Technology, Finance, or any other similar business degree) with a minimum of 18 credits in Business Technology or Administrative Support courses (UHCC BUSN alpha courses or similar); OR (c) Bachelor’s degree in Business Education and 3 years (within the last 5 years) of related work experience (includes skills taught in Business Technology Programs e.g. records management following industry-approved Association for Records Managers and Administrators (ARMA) procedures, document formatting, etc.; and/or secondary or postsecondary Business Education teaching experience); OR (d) Bachelor’s degree in Business related field (Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Information Technology, Finance, or any other similar business degree) with a minimum of 18 credits in Business Technology or Administrative Support courses (UHCC BUSN alpha courses or similar) and 3 years (within the last 5 years) of related work experience (includes skills taught in Business Technology Programs e.g. records management following industry-approved Association for Records Managers and Administrators (ARMA) procedures, document formatting, etc.; and/or secondary or postsecondary Business Education teaching experience); OR (e) Bachelor’s degree in any field and 5 years (within the last 5 years) of related work experience (includes skills taught in Business Technology Programs, e.g. records management following industry-approved Association for Records Managers and Administrators (ARMA) procedures, document formatting, etc.; and/or secondary or postsecondary Business Education teaching experience).
  4. MARKETING: (a) Master’s Business Administration (MBA); OR (b) Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and 3 years (must be within the last 5 years) of related work experience.
