Other Conditions:
  • Part-time, non-tenure track, for placement in Spring, Summer, and/or Fall lecturer pool, assignments as needed, contingent on availability of funds and actual staffing requirements for the UH Maui campus. Placement in the pool ensures eligibility only and does not guarantee employment.
Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Under general supervision, conduct lecture and as appropriate, laboratory courses in discipline.
  2. May include instructional assignment involving distance education.
  3. Maintain at least one office hour per week for each class taught.
  4. Possible evening, weekend and off-campus assignments.
  5. Conduct student evaluations and assessment of teaching effectiveness.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts plus three (3) years of related work experience, which may include professional training;
  2. OR Associate degree in Culinary Arts plus five (5) years of related work experience, which may include professional training;
  3. OR Fifteen (15) college credits plus seven (7) years of related work experience, which may including professional training;
  4. OR Master recognition by Food Services Community and ten (10) years of related work experience.
  5. If qualified applicants are not available, those not meeting minimum qualifications may be considered.
